FGM--An Abuse of Women

What is FGM? The acronym means Female Genital Mutilation.
MUTILATION. Mayhem. Disfigurement. And, it is always child abuse, perpetrated by parents upon their girl children. While this practice is not wholly Muslim, it predates Islam as an Arab practice, and travels with Islam worldwide.
There is a great deal of misinformation by the mainstream media and mainstream health organization to de-Islamicize this practice. But this practices exists NO WHERE where there are not Muslims.
It is the surgical removal of the clitoris, and also in many cases the labia of the female's vagina. The most accurate analogy to the male anatomy is the surgical removal of a mans glans, the head of the penis.
This cultural horror is visited upon girls as they approach womanhood, and is masked in celebration and party akin to a bat Mitzvah in the Jewish faith, or a confirmation in the Catholic Christian practice.
The World
Health Organization estimates that 140 million girls have been abused in this way, but there is evidence that this estimate is too few by HALF. There is not one supporting fact that this is in any way beneficial to the female. In fact, this loss of part of the mechanism of sexuality causes great psychological damage. Women who have suffer this report constant depression well in advance of the population of women who have not been so abused.
Two countries who receive an incredible amount of United States aid are Egypt and Indonesia.
Egyptians have abused 80% of their girls in this way. The United States give that country $880 million dollars. Egypt has 89 million inhabitants, and that means that perhaps 32 million women in Egypt are living with this irreversible affront to their dignity and sound health.
In Indonesia, 86% Muslim, reportedly every girl suffers FGM. The United States give Indonesia $99 million in aid. In a country of 260 million, the possibility that 100 million women have been abused in this way is a horror the mind can almost not fathom.
Why do men do this to their young women? "It is a good old tradition." "It is a cleanliness thing." "It gives men more pleasure."
And then one has to ask oneself the question, "What kind of man COULD do this to woman, to their own offspring? And what kind of woman would permit their female child to be cut in this way?"
The answer: A great majority of Muslim men, or men generally who sanction this abuse of women, are misogynists. What other answer could there be? And as for the women who sanction it....they suffer "honor" punishment or killing for going against the will of their husbands, under tribal or Shariah law.
Hear Us Now USA is dedicated to spreading awareness about this issue, and ending aid to countries who allow this to happen to any female.
