"Those Are the People's Apples"

Ah, the Good Life...At What Cost?

The Economics of Profit, Taxation, and Service Jobs

When you're living the good life, what does economics matter?

OK job, nice car, all the adult toys.  A thousand  friends on Face.  Two weeks vacation and full weekends.

But how many days a week are working to have those things you like?

If you are in the top one percent of taxpayers, you are working 95 percent of the time or more so that we ALL can benefit.  If you are 47 percent of us, you pay next to nothing.  A lot of us are getting a free ride for that good life.

And if you are in a 33 percent tax bracket, the 265 working days you have in a year aren't all yours,  Nintey (90) of them BELONG TO THE GOVERNMENT.  With the number of government workers making $120,000, you are carrying a lot of their load.  That is 18 weeks of labor that you burn at the altar of GOVERNMENT.

Are you getting what you paid for?  Look around your life, and listen to the news with that thought in mind.  Are those petty tyrants inside the beltway giving you your money's worth?  As the king counts what he's taken from you, who's ahead in the bargain?

If you listen to the Mark Levin Show, (and if not, why not?), you'll know that the number of Federal employees making $120,000 or better has increased ten-fold since 2006; and, in the Obama Presidency, the number of people earning that much has doubled.

What does this all mean?

Jobs and Work

It is very simple.  Those rich people who pay half the taxes in this country have the capital that makes jobs.  Do rich people create jobs?  If they are themselves in business as entrepreneurs, yes, they do.  If they have their money in banks, yes they do.  If they have their money invested anywhere, yes they do.

Should you be in a concern that is profit-driven (egads, Mr. President!  PROFIT! ), and your concern is profitable, you are helping to create jobs.  Your boss, the bank who perhaps lent him or her the money to start the business, and you, are all creating jobs.  You make it possible for us to have the things we have, and the national protections we are SUPPOSED have - like secure borders and protection from invasion (see our article about borders and illegal aliens).

No offense meant to government workers, but no government worker, other than soldiers and law enforcement, does anything to enhance our lives.  Most government workers are employed to hem us in, to tell us what we CANNOT do.  And no government worker EVER creates new jobs.  They perform SERVICES, and their labor towards that end never, ever, leads to wealth, for anyone, other than the government worker him- or herself.

Profit = Life

Why Marx and adherent of the philosophy are less sharp than most other tools in the shed of political philosophy is as follows, and this is directly out of Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations:  Service is a dead-end, as we said above.  Real jobs always work toward creating jobs, because they are profit-driven.

Why is that important?  Because profit is exactly analogous to any harvest.  You plant apple trees, and it bears apples, and you take those apples to market, and you make money, enough money for there to be leftover money for you, for every venture has necessary expenses; then you have also created capital.

Capital is what is left over after you've paid all of your living expenses.  Money is essentially labor represented in coin or paper.  If one takes that left over labor and puts it to work by hiring more people to plant cherry trees, and there is in a year another harvest, and more profit, money and capital, and you can hire more workers...then that is capitalism.

Marxism is a dead-end.  In denying the idea of economic freedom to plant apple trees and to take the fruit of that labor to market for sale, with the opportunity to make a profit and to secure one's life by being able to pay expenses and to set aside and reinvest capital; in demonizing the efficient ones, whose labor produces extra, that is born of profit and creates chits for more labor, called money; in telling us that we have no right to the fruits of our labor, Marxism and Socialism of all types and stripes tell us that we barely have the right to life.

"Those Aren't Your Apples - They Are the People's Apples"

The Obama Presidency has been a three-year invective against profit.  Oh, yes, our President certainly has been going after those insurance and oil companies because of all that profit he hears they make.

Meanwhile, he is a job-destroyer that will make us all forget about Herbert Hoover.  Move over, Hooverville - here comes the Obamansions.

But, man, can he golf.

Attacking profit and choking the world's greatest economy to near death hasn't been enough for Barack Obama, in his Fraudency.  He and the traitors of the 111th Congress decided they had the right to tell you what kind of health care you can have.

So in the grand acreage of economic endeavor, here we are:

The Congress and  President of the United States are standing in your apple orchard, and they are telling you two things.

One:  "What gives you the right to have so many damned apples?  They're not your apples.  Those are the people's apples.  You don't have the right to more of them than anyone else."

You will say, "why, what do you mean?  I planted those apple seeds that made those trees, I tend to this orchard year-round to produce this harvest."

They will answer, "you are hoarding the people's apples."

Two: As they cart your apples away, they hand you a letter telling you that your father will not be granted his foot surgery, and that your mother's cancer, that has returned after an earlier remission, will not be treated.  They hand you a phone list for Hospice.

You will say, "But I can afford to have these procedures and treatments done!"

They will answer, "you are not allowed to gobble up the time of the people's doctors. We need them for younger people's care.  And for US, because you need us to be healthy."

If government elected officials believe you don't have the right to the fruit of your own labor and ingenuity, to your economic liberty...then, your personal, political and civil liberties are all in jeopardy.

If GOVERNMENT says you have NO RIGHT TO PROFIT, then government holds your life entirely in it's hands.  If this weren't a country filled with Americans, we'd already be living in the police state of the 1950s of the Iron and Bamboo Curtains.

What is that good life costing you?
